GLogical Fallacy
Post Hoc Ergo Propter Hoc
Description
Post Hoc Ergo Propter Hoc confuses sequence with causation: what follows is treated as what is caused.
Why This Works
It works because the mind hungers for causes and accepts the nearest story. Time order is easy to see; true mechanism is harder to prove.
Example 1
“Revenue climbed after rebranding, so the color palette caused growth.” Coincidence is enthroned as explanation.
Example 2
“I changed my routine and then recovered, so the routine cured me.” All other causes are silently dismissed.
