IXCognitive Bias
In-Group Bias
Your bias is In-Group. Favoring members of your own group.
Why This Bias Happens
Belonging once meant survival, so the mind still grants moral credit to “our side” before evidence is weighed.
Example 1
Marcus Aurelius writes that we are made for cooperation as hands and feet. This wider identity weakens tribal favoritism.
Example 2
Minimal-group experiments show that even arbitrary group labels are enough to trigger favoritism in allocation and judgment.
