Fallacy Fallacy rejects a conclusion merely because one defense of it was flawed.

Why This Works

It works because people confuse a bad route with a false destination.

Example 1

“Your reasoning was circular, therefore your claim is false.” A defective argument is taken as a total refutation.

Example 2

A weak spokesperson argues poorly; opponents conclude the underlying evidence must be wrong as well.
