OLogical Fallacy

Slippery Slope

Description

Slippery Slope proclaims inevitability without mechanism: from one step, it predicts a cliff.

Why This Works

It works because fear accepts chain-reaction stories before checking how links are actually forged.

Example 1

“If we allow one exception, total collapse follows.” No causal path is shown, only alarm.

Example 2

“Approve this pilot and we will lose all safeguards.” Prudence is replaced by prophecy.
